Enhanced Vegetation Management Inspections
In 2021, coming off three consecutive years of extraordinary fire seasons in the Western US, Clear Path was contacted by a large IOU to stand-up a pre-inspection operation to assist the utility in meeting Enhanced Vegetation Management (EVM) commitments made to regulators and governmental officials.
Enhanced Vegetation Management Inspections Strategy
Clear Path committed to staff and train 50-70 qualified inspectors on a short turnaround time of 8-10 weeks for the duration of the year. With a shortage of qualified resources in the western US, Clear Path put together an aggressive recruiting plan searching out qualified candidates across the US and Canada.
Successful candidates would be put through and accelerated training program meeting client requirements and deployed in teams of 5-7 people with each team having a lead inspector. A Clear Path manager was assigned to oversee the entire operation with supervisors assigned for each 2-3 teams.
Waves of 5 to 10 at a time were onboarded, trained, and deployed over a 10-week period. Aggressive staffing required robust quality and production protocols to assure client expectations were met.
Enhanced Vegetation Management Inspections Results
Clear Path was able to meet client expectations, staffing 67 inspection positions over a 10-week period. Quality and production met high standards and the utility met its EVM year-end commitment.
